Year of the Rooster at the Bellagio

Animatronics enables a colorful 10-foot tall, 500-pound Rhode Island Red rooster covered in fabric, scaled feathers and with “skin” legs to move and to crow a “Happy Chinese New Year” greeting in Mandarin Chinese.

A traditional six-tier pagoda with red lacquered faux-finish and beautifully-sculpted gold leaf detail is the focal point of the west garden. The 40-foot-tall pagoda represents a mountain of “ch’i,” or good energy.

Dressed in elegant embroidered silken robe and towering 18 feet over the celebration, the Chinese God of Wealth and Fortune is the most widely recognized and respected cultural figure in Chinese folklore.
